90 Years of History at the Times Square Restaurant!


The Times Square Diner started as a place to meet at the railroad coach car, once a part of the Tweetsie Railroad. The railroad was gone by the 1960s and Elbert and Georgia Gwyn purchased a small sandwich and fountain shop in a railroad coach car. Georgia Gwyn made everything from scratch using fresh meats, eggs, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs and more for her customers on a daily basis. The diner even served homemade breakfast biscuits with gravy made from bacon drippings. They served bottles of Coke, Mountain Dew, and Dr.Pepper along with fresh hand tossed pizza.
